Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data analytics engineer to build and maintain ETL pipelines, optimize the data warehouse, and develop scalable analytics infrastructure in a fast-moving environment.

You will collaborate with finance, sales, and product teams, implement data quality checks, and help translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of SQL experience with expert SQL capability.
• Interest in using AI to develop efficient systems, improve proactive alerting, and optimize query performance.
• Experience with dimensional models, data lakes, data lakehouses, and data warehouses.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with large data volumes and making models performant and scalable.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Experience with MPP data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with ETL tools such as Fivetran or Stitch.
• Ability to reverse-engineer legacy reports and rebuild structured, automated solutions.
• Ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical finance and operations partners.
• Familiarity with Python, Go, or similar languages for custom data processing and automation.
• 1+ years of experience with dbt, including implementing data quality checks and testing frameworks.
• Experience with financial/accounting data or ERP platforms such as NetSuite or Sage.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated releases, and orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Familiarity with reverse ETL tools such as Hightouch or Census.
• Ability to work in or commute to the New York office, or willingness to relocate.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the company's ETL and data pipelines.
