Job summary

Set Of X is hiring software engineers to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems across analytics, data processing, real-time, and business applications. You will analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement software with a focus on quality, testing, and documentation.

The role supports Windows and UNIX environments and requires experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Docker, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience with 7+ years
• Proven experience with full software development lifecycle
• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, and Python
• Experience with Windows and/or UNIX/Linux development environments
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate into software solutions
• Experience debugging, testing, and integrating components

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems, including analytics, large-scale data processing, real-time systems, and business applications. Working independently or on a team, they design, code, test, and debug software to meet documented requirements. They analyze user needs to derive system and performance requirements, resolve defects, and ensure software quality through testing and documentation.

This role contributes to system design decisions, including hardware/software trade-offs, reuse of existing solutions, and integration of COTS/GOTS technologies. The engineer develops algorithms, builds and integrates software components, and creates or modifies database queries and interfaces. They also analyze system workflows, identify problem areas, and implement effective solutions while supporting and improving development processes and documentation.

Additional responsibilities include developing applications in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python for Windows or UNIX environments, as well as leveraging DevOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Bamboo) to build and deploy software solutions.

Required Skills:

• Experience developing and maintaining complex software systems across the full development lifecycle
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python
• Experience with Windows and/or UNIX/Linux development environments
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Artifactory)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective software solutions
• Experience debugging, testing, and integrating software components
• Knowledge of database design, queries, and data repositories
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 7 years of relevant experience, or
High School diploma and 11 years of relevant experience

Clearance:
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
