Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Software Development Manager (SDM) to own the team's roadmap and drive the mission's realization. You will mentor engineers, define priorities, and ensure software quality and timely delivery across ground and space systems.

You will lead a distributed team building frontend tooling and backend services that support launch, on-orbit demonstrations, and constellation automation, with emphasis on scalable, reliable systems and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and manage a diverse team of engineers.
• Provide technical guidance to address broad projects and ensure objectives.
• Define team growth expectations and organizational strategy.
• Coordinate internal and external resources for team and project success.
• Communicate across teams to identify risks and mitigations for mission success.
• Juggle multiple priorities while optimizing system and schedule.
• Apply critical thinking in complex, ambiguous environments and tight timelines.
