Description
Pricing Shared Services is a core team that enables pricing for Amazon worldwide. You will play a key role in evolving our core platform services and pricing algorithms to address complex technical challenges in pricing optimization, large-scale computing, distributed systems, web applications, algorithms, and data mining. The pricing systems automatically determine and publish prices for millions of items sold worldwide, from books to electronics to shoes. Each country presents unique complexities in price generation. We are experimenting with machine learning algorithms to lower prices for our customers and redesigning our core services to scale with Amazon’s growth.
As an experienced SDM in Amazon’s Pricing team, you will tackle complex challenges involving machine learning and large-scale systems, applying techniques in large-scale computing, distributed systems, data mining, scalability, machine learning, and statistical algorithms.
A day in the life
Success involves maintaining long-term objectives while guiding your team through short-term obstacles. You will develop your team members' careers, improve development processes, remove bottlenecks, and enable fast progress. Collaboration with business leads, product owners, technical program managers, designers, and partner teams is essential. Comfort with ambiguity and openness to alternative solutions are important.
