Amazon’s AWS SDKs and Tools team in New York seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a hands-on, high-performing group of engineers. The AWS SDKs and Tools are the gateway to the 200+ AWS services. We are looking for a Software Development Manager to help build AWS SDKs for multiple programming languages. These SDKs are used by developers and operations teams around the world. You have the opportunity to work directly with customers. We build out in the open, are passionate about developer experience and client side tools, and are currently looking for a seasoned engineering manager to help us make this experience even better.

The AWS SDKs and Tools organization builds the libraries and tools developers and agents use to build on AWS. Our SDKs ship in many programming languages, support every AWS service, and are used by millions of developers. Our SDKs are open source and you have the opportunity to work directly with customers and to collaborate across AWS services.

We're looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a New York-based team of engineers who own several AWS SDKs. You'll set technical direction, keep operations healthy, and own the roadmap for your SDKs. You'll hire and grow engineers, balance new features with long-term maintainability and backward compatibility, and partner with sister SDK teams to ship features that span every language. This is a hands‑on leadership role: you'll stay close to designs, code reviews, and operational decisions while you build a strong, sustainable team.
