Overview
This is a full-time employment opportunity. Five days per week in Mission Hills. The role requires a mix of strong IT function background with business acumen.
The role
- Critical role: supports legacy applications while leading a company-wide ERP implementation.
- ERP transformation project estimated to take 1–2 years.
- Selected to go with Oracle 2 years ago but project did not proceed; company re-evaluating ERP options (Oracle Fusion, MS Dynamics, Acumatica, niche ERPs for rental/leasing).
- Heavy focus on business process improvement; company is currently very manual/paper-driven.
Key Responsibilities
- BASIS is necessary to run the business.
- Reports are in BASIS and are already built and running.
- Partner with MSP and internal team for support, enhancements, upgrades, version control.
- Sit with the business (manufacturing, logistics, marketing, field services, finance, customer service) to understand needs and document processes.
- Act as bridge between business users, leadership, developers, and external vendors.
- Drive ERP implementation (design, integrations, adoption, change management).
- Identify and automate manual processes.
- Lead 3 direct reports (2 Report Writers + 1 Software Admin) plus contractors as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Blend of IT functions + business acumen (not just technical/coding).
- Strong ERP implementation experience (end-to-end, finance + field services + scheduling/routing).
- 8+ years experience; senior level, not suitable for junior candidates.
- People manager experience with diplomacy and patience; able to handle strong personalities.
- Process-oriented: documenting workflows, requirements, gap analysis, reporting needs.
- Comfortable with change management and obtaining buy-in across teams to advance technology and processes.
- Technically savvy but not only a coder: SQL reporting knowledge, cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), integration tools (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Workato).
- Strong SQL and background with Java.
- Familiar with Agile + Waterfall methodologies (Agile most important).
- Familiarity with cloud transitions from on-prem to cloud.
- Nice to have: PHP knowledge, CRM/Scheduling/Optimization, rental/leasing industry ERP familiarity.
