Job summary

JMJ Phillip Group is seeking a Software Development Lead – Manufacturing Systems in Lafayette, LA to oversee MES-based software systems and guide a small development team. You will architect solutions, develop in C#, .NET, and SQL Server, and ensure robust data visualization and interfaces for manufacturing operations.

The role requires 6+ years in manufacturing software, with experience in AI development and containerization technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Strong knowledge of C#/.NET, SQL Server, MES and manufacturing controls.
• Experience with AI development, Kubernetes, Docker and containerization is highly desirable.

Software Development Lead – Manufacturing Systems

A industry leader in manufacturing in the Greater Lafayette, Louisiana area is seeking a Software Development Lead to oversee manufacturing software systems supporting a high-tech production facility. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, stakeholder management, and oversight of a small development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES), software architecture, databases, and production-floor technologies.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Lead and support manufacturing software systems, serving as a key technical resource for troubleshooting, application support, system integration, data collection, and minimizing production downtime.
• Develop and maintain software and database applications using C#, Microsoft .NET, and SQL Server; design data visualization, user interfaces, database structures, and solutions supporting manufacturing operations.
• Lead a team of software developers and coordinate development activities, including project execution, quality assurance, application transitions, support processes, and outsourced development resources.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, IT, and other stakeholders on MES architecture, equipment integration, automation, PLC/OPC systems, capacity expansions, and implementation of new technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 6+ years of experience in manufacturing systems or software development, with strong C#/.NET, SQL Server, MES/manufacturing controls, and application support experience; experience with AI development, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization is highly desirable.
