Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is offering a ten-week summer internship in Kansas. Interns will explore multiple programming languages, architectures, security, and database systems while supporting IT projects and end-user interactions.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, professional growth, and a path toward technical proficiency in a healthcare technology environment. Hybrid or onsite work is available.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program.
• At least 6 earned college credit hours related to computer science, including at least one programming language course.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IT projects, initiatives, and support during the ten-week internship.
• Participate in software troubleshooting and interaction with end-users.
• Analyze problems, gather requirements, and implement solutions.
• Apply SDLC concepts to design, development, testing and implementation.
• Integrate application and system requirements into tested software meeting business needs.
• Present findings and project learnings from the internship program.
• Join a volunteer activity with other interns within the company.
