Job summary

Sulzer in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Software Development Intern to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of engineering tools and product development systems. You will collaborate with design engineers, mechanical integrity analysts, and IT to enable data visibility, workflow efficiency, and reliable tooling.

This role provides hands-on experience following established procedures and learning opportunities in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an applicable degree (CS/SE/IS) and related field.
• Programming experience in at least one language (C#, C++, Java, Python) and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS) and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing enhancements, bug fixes, and minor feature updates based on business requirements and user feedback.
• Collaborate with Product Development, engineering, IT to understand tool usage and needs.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of tools to ensure quality and reliability.
• Help document technical designs, workflows, and user instructions for supported tools.
• Analyze issues reported by users and assist in troubleshooting and resolution.
