Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD invites student software engineers to join a ground-breaking team focused on real-time modeling, simulation, and analytic visualization tools.

You will contribute to the full software lifecycle, implementing GUI and back-end components in C/C++ and Qt on Linux, collaborating with engineers to deliver innovative solutions, and pursuing a degree in CS/CE with a 3.0 GPA minimum while meeting security-clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have a passion for object-oriented software development.
  • Able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with object-oriented languages (C++/Java/Python), Linux, Qt, Git, and scripting languages is a plus.
  • Contribute to the full software lifecycle from requirements and design through deployment and support; implement GUI and back-end software using C/C++ and Qt on Linux.
