Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining critical APIs and interfaces to connect Kuiper capabilities with US Government customers such as NASA, DoD, and other National Security clients. You will develop software services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications, which will coordinate automatically with external systems and organizations, rapidly, reliably, and at scale.

Key job responsibilities

• Utilize network topology understanding and Software Defined Networking / network operations experience to develop APIs and interfaces to meet customer needs.
• Demonstrate interface and architecture capabilities in a simulated test environment.
• Solve complex technical problems related to the Kuiper constellation for government clients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements.
• Ensure systems meet performance, availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security standards.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management.
• Escalate urgent issues and drive resolution promptly.
• Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate across project teams.

The position is located in Redmond, WA, with US relocation benefits. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens due to government requirements.

About The Team

The Kuiper Government Solutions team develops scalable solutions for satellite and ground applications for US and allied government customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with software-defined networking.
