Project Kuiper is Amazon's initiative to launch a constellation of low-earth orbit satellites providing high-speed, low-latency broadband to underserved communities globally. This role is on the Customer Device Services team, which manages device monitoring and management for end-users. It's a unique opportunity to develop services impacting millions worldwide.

This position involves designing, implementing, and operating globally available distributed systems using the latest AWS cloud technologies and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement globally available distributed cloud architectures.
2. Collaborate with device software, satellite, networking, and security engineering teams.
3. Promote engineering excellence and mentor junior engineers.

Additional Responsibilities

• Design and develop telecom components, applications, and services.
• Partner with e-commerce, network, and security teams.
• Create data models and system components.

Export Control Requirement

A Day in the Life

This role offers the chance to develop software for an advanced global telecom service, designing, building, and maintaining components of Project Kuiper's Customer Devices Services and interacting with the Kuiper Network.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including reliability and scalability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, reviews, source control, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
