Sr. Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions Team

Project Kuiper aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

This role involves designing, building, and maintaining critical APIs and interfaces to connect Kuiper capabilities with US Government clients such as NASA, DoD, and other National Security agencies. You will develop innovative software services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications, ensuring rapid, reliable, and scalable coordination with external systems and organizations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Utilize network topology knowledge and experience with Software Defined Networking and network operations to develop APIs and interfaces for the Kuiper network team, meeting specific customer needs.
2. Demonstrate interface and architecture capabilities in a simulated test environment you help develop.
3. Address complex technical challenges related to the use of the Kuiper constellation for government clients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
4. Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements.
5. Ensure systems meet Kuiper and US Government performance standards, including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security.
6. Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders and management.
7. Escalate urgent issues and drive resolution promptly.
8. Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate findings across project teams.

The position is based in Redmond, WA, with US relocation benefits provided. Candidates must be US Citizens and eligible for a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
