Software Development Engineer in Test – Immigration AI

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior QA/automation engineer to own quality across an Immigration AI platform. You will mentor engineers, design test plans and environments, and create automated testing frameworks.

You will also review code and drive testing across unit, integration, and UI layers, with emphasis on backend-heavy services and asynchronous/event-driven testing. Expert in C# or Java with deep knowledge of STLC, REST services, and CI/CD pipelines; GenAI utilization is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 8+ years working as a software engineer or test automation engineer.
• Expert in an object oriented language such as C# or Java.
• Complete understanding of the application development life cycle.
• Expert knowledge of QA testing techniques and the STLC.
• Expert experience testing REST web services.
• Expert at testing backend-heavy services where little or no UI is available.
• Ability to design and build custom test tooling for hard-to-exercise systems.
• GenAI/LLMs applied to improve productivity, test generation, and analysis.
• Experience with stress and load testing tools and techniques.
• Understanding of advanced techniques like stubbing and mocking.
• Source control systems and CI/CD Pipelines expertise.
• B.S. or M.S. in computer science or related field; or equivalent experience.

• Practical experience applying GenAI/LLMs to solve engineering productivity, test generation, and analysis challenges
• Experience with stress and load testing tools and techniques
• Expert understanding of advanced techniques such as stubbing and mocking
• Expert understanding of source control systems and CI/CD Pipelines
• B.S. or M.S. in computer science, information systems, a related field; comparable certifications; or equivalent direct work experience
