Amazon.com Services LLC in Austin, TX seeks a Software Development Engineer II for CLS Infrastructure and Product Security to design, build, and operate secure, scalable software services end-to-end, from requirements and design through production launch and ongoing operations.

You will write high-quality, maintainable code, balance security, performance, and delivery speed, and own the health of your systems while mentoring junior engineers and embedding security across teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Key job responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable software services and components end-to-end from requirements and design through implementation, production launch, and ongoing operations
• Write high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code and make sound technical trade-offs that balance security, performance, reliability, and delivery speed
• Own the operational health of your systems, including monitoring, on-call response, and continuous improvement of availability and performance
• Partner with teams across Amazon Worldwide Operations and Worldwide Grocery Stores to understand security needs and build automated solutions to address them
• Influence technical direction through design and code reviews, and help raise the engineering bar across the team
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong security culture and engineering best practices

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
