Job summary

Amazon's Customer Logistics Security team in Austin seeks a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, and operate secure, scalable software services end-to-end. You will own health and performance, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical direction through design reviews.

You should have 3+ years in software development, 1+ year in large-scale distributed systems, and experience with C#, C++, Java, or Perl. Bachelor’s in CS or related field required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable software services end-to-end from requirements and design through production launch and ongoing operations.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code respecting security, performance, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Own the operational health of systems, including monitoring, on-call response, and continuous improvement of availability and performance.
• Partner with teams to understand security needs and build automated solutions to address them.
• Influence technical direction through design and code reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
