Job summary

Amazon Luna is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join SIPS, the Streaming Infrastructure and Provisioning Services team responsible for provisioning and managing Luna's compute fleet.

You will design, build, and operate distributed services spanning GPU provisioning, fleet scaling, instance lifecycle, and workload placement across AWS regions, collaborating with Luna and AWS engineers to improve reliability and efficiency while delivering high performance for game sessions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate distributed services that power Luna's streaming infrastructure and provisioning platform.
• Build and improve systems for automated capacity provisioning, fleet scaling, instance lifecycle management, and workload placement across AWS regions.
• Develop solutions that improve GPU and compute utilization while maintaining high availability, performance, and customer experience.
• Own features and services end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues spanning distributed services, EC2 infrastructure, networking, and GPU environments.
• Improve the scalability, reliability, observability, and operational efficiency of SIPS services and reduce manual operational work through automation.
• Work closely with engineers across Luna and AWS to support new game launches, infrastructure capabilities, instance types, and regional expansion.
• Participate in design and code reviews, contribute to technical decisions, and help improve engineering standards and development practices across the team.
• Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to a strong engineering and operational culture.
