We are the Santos/Buy with Prime (BwP) Identity and Access Management (IAM)/Pre Checkout team, and we're looking for a Software Development Engineer to build products that are fundamental to Amazon’s future. Our focus is on software architecture design, customer experience, and business strategy.

This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to hit the ground running. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure authentication and authorization solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will work with the latest identity systems, integrate with various applications, and enhance security measures while improving user experience. You will develop front and backend services capable of handling millions of requests, building products that reach millions of customers globally, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Our projects span across Amazon Merchants, Consumers, and AWS business lines, focusing on high-volume customer-facing services. You will work closely with a large Principal Engineering community and interact directly with project leadership. As innovators embracing new technology, you will choose highly scalable and available technologies to solve complex problems and influence product design. Santos operates like a startup—build quickly, improve often, and architect for both short and long-term success. We maintain a robust backlog, offering lots of ownership, design, and implementation opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Experience programming in at least one software language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
