Job summary

1Finity America Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer I in Richardson, TX, to join our software development team.

You will design, implement, and enhance next-generation optical networking solutions, integrating AI-assisted diagnostics and cloud-native architectures. You’ll work across embedded, hardware interfaces, and distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software and meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in modern C/C++, with emphasis on modular, maintainable, and performance‑optimized code.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux, including system‑level programming and kernel interfaces.
• Familiarity with telecommunications systems and networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Strong debugging skills using GDB, Valgrind, perf, or trace-cmd.
• Familiarity with test automation and scripting in Python, Go, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance software for next‑gen optical transport and network automation platforms.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle from architecture to deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and product management.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Debug complex issues across embedded software, hardware interfaces, and distributed systems.
