Job summary

CSG is seeking a skilled mainframe practitioner to administer and modernize critical tooling and platforms. You will support ISPF/Cobol environments, integrate CI/CD workflows, and pilot new technologies to boost productivity.

Work is remote with India-based opportunities; contribute to automation, scripting, and AI-assisted development while aligning with our on-call rotation and upgrade initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of administration and support of mainframe development tools.
• Strong knowledge of JCL, SDSF, ISPF, CA7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, VSAM, Cobol, ISPW.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for critical tooling platforms and ensure high availability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support major infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies for mainframe modernization.
• Implement solutions such as ZOWE, VS Code integrations, APIs, and developer productivity platforms.
• Enable AI-assisted development tools and CI/CD practices.
• Build integrations between mainframe and distributed/open systems.

Job description

• 3-5 years of administration, configure, upgrade, and support mainframe development tools (like ISPW) and utilities experience.
• Provide operational support for critical tooling platforms and ensure high availability.
• Strong knowledge of JCL, SDSF, ISPF, CA7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, VSAM, Cobol, ISPW
• Participate in on-call rotations and support major infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies for mainframe modernization.
• Implement solutions such as ZOWE, VS Code integrations, APIs, and developer productivity platforms.
• Enable the adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Glean, and similar platforms.
• Support initiatives involving APIs, scripting, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Build integrations between mainframe and distributed/open systems platforms.
• Proven experience in CI/CD design and automation (Jenkins, Azure Devops, Chef).
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python,JavaScript, and PowerShell).
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through AI and automation.
