Job summary

Protingent Staffing is seeking a Software Development Engineer (Golang) for a contract role in Santa Clara, CA. The candidate will work on a simulation framework to run large-scale clusters with minimal hardware constraints, refactor interfaces for better simulation, and push the state-of-the-art with new technologies.

The role requires deep Golang expertise, Kubernetes experience, and a strong CS foundation. Collaboration in a distributed, enterprise-grade product environment is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing, developing and testing enterprise products (Golang preferred).
• BS in Computer Science.
• Strong understanding of microservice architectures and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience designing microservices to operate and scale in distributed systems with thousands of nodes.
• Collaborative, team-oriented with solid CS background in data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Create simulation framework for Portworx Enterprise Control Plane to run clusters of thousands of nodes without hardware constraints.
• Refactor and redesign internal product interfaces to enable simulation and remove hardware dependency.
• Recommend and implement clean software abstractions in the product.
• Experimenting with new technologies in order to push the state-of-the-art and innovate new solutions

Software Development Engineer (Golang)

Position Description:

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Software Development Engineer (Golang) with our client located in Santa Clara, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create simulation framework for the Portworx Enteprise Control Plane to run clusters of 1000s of nodes without hardware contraints
• Refactor and redesign internal product interfaces to enable simulation and remove hardware dependency
• Recommend & implement clean software abstraction in the Product
• Experimenting with new technologies in order to push the state-of-the-art and innovate new solutions

Job Qualifications:

• Experience with heavy use of Claude Code, Codex or Cursor for AI-lead development
• Experience with Golang (Advance level) and Kubernetes
• 8+ years of experience in Designing, Development and Testing of Enterprise products (Golang preferred).
• BS in Computer Science required
• Good understanding of Microservice Architectures and Cloud Native platforms
• Designing micro services to operate and scale in a distributed system architecture that scales to thousands of nodes
• Proven design sensibility and the willingness to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment.
• Solid CS background in data structures, algorithms and software design.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract
• Pay Range: $90-$101/hr.
• Location: Santa Clara, CA (4-5 days office)
