Audible, located in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a Software Development Engineer, Early Career to define, design, and refine the software powering our audiobooks platform. You’ll help build scalable systems and collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver impactful features for millions of listeners.

You will work with modern languages (Java, Python, C++, C#), contribute to code quality, and participate in Agile processes.

Qualificações

• Age 18+ and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Experience with at least one modern language (Java, Python, C++, or C#) including OOP design.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and OOP principles.
• Currently enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's or higher in CS/CE/DS or related fields.

Responsabilidades

• Define, design, and refine software for Audible's platform.
• Identify and fix defects through code review and debugging.
• Write maintainable, scalable code as part of an Agile team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and launch user-centric software.
• Apply CS/engineering principles to solve moderate-scale problems.
• Improve testability and documentation of owned components.
• Handle data classification and storage per company policies.
• Participate in interviews and mentor engineers.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will…

• Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for the world's largest audiobook creator and provider
• Identify and resolve software defects through code review, log analysis, metrics examination, debugging, and other troubleshooting methods
• Write maintainable and scalable code for software components as part of an agile engineering team
• Collaborate with stakeholders to envision, design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software that inspires and impacts users
• Apply computer science, engineering, and analysis principles to solve moderate-scale problems
• Continuously enhance testability, operational excellence (OE), and documentation for owned software components
• Handle data classification, storage, and management in accordance with company policies
• Participate in the interview process and provide mentorship to fellow engineers

Basic Qualifications

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields OR completed a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in specified fields
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience from a technical internship
• Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases
• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
