Job summary

Amazon's AWS Identity team seeks a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate distributed identity systems that handle authentication and authorization at scale.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and deliver reliable services that process millions of requests per second, balancing security and a great customer experience, with opportunities to impact access control across AWS resources. The role is based in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Identity team. In this role, you will design, build, and operate distributed systems that handle authentication and authorization decisions at scale. You will work on challenging problems at the intersection of security, distributed systems, and customer experience — ensuring that AWS customers can securely and seamlessly manage access to their resources.

Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
