Job summary
Amazon Shopping Video (ASV) seeks a self-driven, enthusiastic full-stack engineer with a strong product sense to design, lead and build end-to-end video experiences used by millions of Amazon customers. You will influence technical direction and engineering practices while tackling livestreaming, chat, advertising and video commerce problems.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience (patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- 1+ years of SDE or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software applications.
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
- Experience programming with at least one language.
Responsibilities
- Build lovable, fluid customer experiences to view videos and shop as they watch videos.
- Lead a group of engineers on complex projects touching millions of customers.
- Expertise in modern architecture patterns, state management, and component-based design.
- Experience with design system implementation and component libraries.
- Take lead of projects end-to-end, including Product/UX decisions.
- Optimize performance for high-frequency UI updates and complex state changes.

Amazon Shopping Video (ASV) is a new strategic program in Amazon Advertising that leverages the potential of video to help millions of customers find product inspiration through videos. ASV is seeking a *self-driven*, enthusiastic full stack engineer with a *strong* product sense to help accomplish our mission!
We are looking for a strong full stack engineers to design, lead and build E2E video experiences (low-latency rendering and responsive, modern CX) used by millions of customers. In this role, you'll have significant influence on the team's technical direction and engineering practices. In this role, you will lead and work in niche areas like livestreaming, chat, advertising and video commerce where you will have the opportunity to innovate solving technical problems that are unique and rewarding.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who likes to deliver in a fast-paced environment to demonstrate impact that will enable the explosive growth of video in Amazon. - Build lovable, fluid customer experiences to delight customers to view videos and shop as they watch videos working with a cross-functional group of Engineers, UX + Product team, Applied Scientists, Marketing.
- Lead a group of Engineers on complex projects that millions of Amazon Customers interact with every day.
- Expertise in modern architecture patterns, state management, and component-based design.
- Experience with design system implementation and component libraries.
- Takes lead of projects E2E, including taking decisions wearing Product/UX hat.
- Experience with performance optimization for high-frequency UI updates and complex state changes.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and internationalization best practices.
- Work on a wide breadth of tech (optimize video recommendations, build low-latency rendering systems and responsive, modern CX)
You’ll work with a cross-disciplinary team to design and implement Video experiences. Self-driven engineers will enjoy the autonomy to impact millions of customers regularly. Engineers who love to be multi-disciplinary (routinely influence and take UX/Product decisions).
The team works like a startup with individuals owning not just the tech, but also business goals that drive impact partnering with Product Managers. Engineers have access to leaders on a regular basis to present, brainstorm their ideas to drive impact to customers.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
