Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer for Prime Video Personalization & Discovery in Seattle. You will collaborate across teams to design and deliver scalable services used by millions of customers.

The role emphasizes building new products, features, and services while managing ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work on large distributed systems with emphasis on design patterns, reliability, and performance, in an environment where development cycles are measured in weeks

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build technologies in a large distributed computing environment and lead changes in the industry.
• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to scale and speed.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault‑tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
