Job summary

Amazon Security in Seattle, WA is seeking a software engineer to design, implement and maintain platform services using AWS, with a focus on reliability and fault tolerance.

You will participate in on-call rotations, automate deployments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate workflows and improve security tooling across the company. The role requires 3+ years of professional software development and a Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent.

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

On-Call Responsibility

This position involves on-call responsibilities. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.

Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
