Job summary

Flyttr is seeking a Software Development Coordinator to lead a small multi-framework team of developers and engineers. You will translate commercial requirements into architectures, assign tasks, and ensure code quality and production readiness.

You will serve as a technical liaison with the sales team in the USA, translating complex concepts into clear messaging, and collaborating across time zones to support a West Coast customer base. The role is based in Brazil.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Experience front-end and back-end development.
  • Strong database experience.
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with setting up robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to operations to resolve issues within SLAs.
  • Convert product requirements into clear specifications and assign tasks.
  • Architect technical solutions for product and engineering issues.
  • Perform code reviews to a high standard.
  • Ensure good software development practices are followed.
  • Set up SDLC processes for the team.
  • Set up robust CI/CD pipelines for safe deployments.

Purpose of the JobThe Software Development Coordinator will be responsible for leading a small multi-framework team of developers and engineers. They will be responsible for taking requirements from commercial teams, converting these into well architected solutions and assign tasks to realise the final products. They will ensure the code is built to quality and anything pushed to production is well tested and robust.

You will also act as a key technical liaison with the sales team within the USA, ensuring customer and technical considerations are well understood. You will support the translation of complex concepts into clear, effective messaging for sales teams.

The role is based in Brazil and will involve working as part of an small team. You will need to work with colleagues internationally so must have flexibility to work across time zones. A key customer base is likely to be West Coast, California so the ability to support that time zone is essential.

ResponsibilitiesList these in order of importance/impact:
  • Provide technical support to operational team to ensure issues are resolved within SLAs.
  • Converting product requirements into clear specifications and allocating tasks to team members.
  • Architecting technical solutions to product and engineering issues.
  • Performing code reviews to a high standard.
  • Ensuring good software development practices are followed.
  • Setting up good processes for software development which cover the entire software development life cycle.
  • Setting up robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure software is deployed safely and well tested before deployment.
  • Ensuring product documentation is kept up to date.
  • Carry out software development to support teams when required to lead by example.
  • Establish an effective working structure, within an agile framework, to maintain a consistent workflow.
  • Act as a key technical liaison to sales staff, ensuring customer needs and technical considerations are clearly understood and communicated.
  • Support sales teams to ensure they understand complex technical concepts and assist them to frame this into effective messaging for use in client and market-facing discussions.
  • Create executive reports to track delivery against milestones, risk mitigation and planning aligned with the programme goals.
Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements
  • The stack spans several domains of which expertise is not required in all of the below but the candidate should be comfortable reviewing and reasoning across these:

  • Embedded C
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, ideally in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • 5+ years of prior hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Experienced in front-end UX development as well as backend.
  • Strong database experience.
  • Experience with cloud computing – AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
  • Familiarity with setting up and configuring robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex, multi-disciplinary technical work.
  • Ability to write clear documentation and regularly update task management tickets.
  • Excellent communication skills and fully fluent in English.
  • Proven ability to design robust systems that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Flexibility to support internationally across time zones.
Desirable:
  • Experience with React Native.
  • Familiarity with IoT, embedded systems, or hardware-software integration.
  • Data engineering experience.
  • Exposure to scientific computing or numerical programming (Julia, MATLAB, NumPy, or similar).
  • Experience scaling a team from early-stage to growth-stage within a single organisation.
