Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Software Development Architect (Drupal) to drive design, development, and deployment of modular micro-services and cloud-based systems. You will lead Drupal module/theme work, implement CI/CD, and ensure secure software practices across the stack.

The role requires 8+ years in full-stack development, Drupal experience, and strong DevSecOps delivery capabilities in Agile environments. On-site in McLean, VA with potential for security clearance involvement.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field with 2 years related IT experience.
• 8 Years of experience with programming languages (Java, Ruby, React, C++, C).
• 8 Years of experience with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• 8 Years of experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, JavaScript).
• 5 Years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 5 Years of experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI).
• 3+ years of hands-on Drupal experience (Drupal 8/9/10).
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Automated Testing frameworks including unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modular micro-services and cloud-based systems, including Drupal web apps.
• Communicate stakeholder needs to developers and translate requirements.
• Write and debug code for Drupal modules and themes.
• Troubleshoot quality, security, and reliability issues.
• Participate in code reviews and QA activities.
• Automate unit and functional tests.
• Test and review code written by others and analyze results.
• Leverage APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions.
• Ensure security against threats per Drupal and web app best practices.
• Identify problems, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Support production releases, including deployment and testing.
• Document code, features, and training guides.
• Create as-is environment docs, gap analyses, and options/recommendations.
• Utilize virtualization and containerization to modernize systems.
• Act as IC and mentor junior team members.
• Engineer and propose improvements for services provided.

Overview

As a Software Development Architect (Drupal), you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering software features, APIs, and micro-service solutions. We are looking for candidates with at least 8 years of full stack development experience, including experience developing and maintaining Drupal-based web applications, using Agile and DevSecOps methods such as build/release management, CI/CD practices, and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modular micro-services and cloud-based systems, including Drupal-based webapplications
• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to other developers
• Write and debug code for innovative software solutions, including custom Drupal modules and themes
• Troubleshoot software quality,security and reliability issues
• Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities
• Automate unit and functional tests
• Test and examine code written by others and analyzing results
• Evaluate,identify and develop complex software solutions using APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions
• Ensure that software is secure against cyber threats, including adherence to Drupal and web applicationsecurity best practices
• Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Support production releases (including deployment, troubleshooting, and testing)
• Document software code, features, and training guides
• Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization tooptimize and modernize software systems
• Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
• Engineer and implement solutions andprovide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• 5 Years of experience with one or more clouds (I.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• 5 Years of experience using CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI
• 3+ years of hands-on Drupal experience to include developing custom Drupal modules, themes, and siteconfigurations (Drupal 8/9/10)
• Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks including unit testing

Preferred:

• Experience integrating Drupal with APIs and backend servicesFamiliarity with Drupal security and accessibility best practices (e.g., Section 508)
