Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Software Developer-SME to design, code, test, and maintain software applications and systems in support of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. This position will be located in Quantico, VA, and will be a hybrid position within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as PL/SQL, C++, Visual Basic, ABAP, JAVA, XML, etc.
• Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.
• Plans system and development deployment and ensures compliance with software standards.
• May design graphical user interfaces (GUI) to meet specific user needs.
• Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Builds add‑on modules using appropriate application programming languages.
• Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
• Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
• Analyzes detailed system factors such as input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
• Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
• Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
• Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years of experience (or commensurate experience).

Required Skills And Experience

• Clearance Required: SECRET

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Possess expert knowledge in reading/writing PL/SQL code.
• Have intimate knowledge of the NCIS Case Management System application.
• Have experience working on Department of Navy networks.
