Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a SME – Software Developer to update existing and future NCIS applications for OCI-compliant containers and container-oriented architectures. This onsite role is based in Quantico, VA, with a posted salary range of USD 175,000 to 185,000 per year.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, high school diploma with 10 years of experience or equivalent hands-on experience, and strong background in modern development environments and containerization.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance required.
• High school diploma plus 10 years of experience or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with database and application development environments: SQL Server, SharePoint, Oracle, ServiceNow, .NET, Java, Python.
• Knowledge of containerization and IaC components such as Dockerfiles.
• Prefer ASP.NET Core development and .NET Framework development.
• Familiarity with self-hosted artifact repositories: Artifactory, Nexus, NuGet.
• Secure software development expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and code applications and modules using languages such as C++, Visual Basic, ABAP, Java, XTML, and related tools.
• Provide patches and upgrades to existing systems.
• Plan for system and development deployment; ensure software compliance standards are met.
• Design graphical user interfaces to meet user needs.
• Prepare operating instructions and compile program development documentation.
• Analyze system capabilities, program intent, output requirements, input data collection, programming techniques, and controls to resolve technical questions.
• Build add-on modules using application programming languages.
• Design and code applications according to specifications using appropriate tools.
• Maintain and modify existing software applications.
• Assess systems factors such as input/output requirements, information flow, hardware/software needs, and alternative problem-solving methods.
• Perform modifications and maintenance on operational programs and procedures.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure standards and specifications are met.
• Write or revise program, operations, and user documentation in line with standards.
