Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, code, test, and maintain software applications and systems in support of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). This position will be located in Quantico, VA, and will be a partially remote/hybrid position.

Must be in commutable geographical range. Responsibilities include building and coding applications using PL/SQL, C++, .NET, Visual Basic, ABAP, JAVA, and other tools; participating in code reviews; creating documentation; and

Qualifications

• Clearance required: TS/SCI.
• IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Working knowledge in reading/writing PL/SQL and .NET.

Responsibilities

• Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
• Mantains and modifies existing software applications.
• Analyzes input/output requirements, information flow, hardware and software needs.
• Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
• Participates in code reviews to ensure standards compliance.
• Writes or revises program documentation and user guides.

Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Software Developer to design, code, test, and maintain software applications and systems in support of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). This position will be located in Quantico, VA, and will be a partially remote/hybrid position. Must be in commutable geographical range.

Responsibilities

Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as PL/SQL, C++, .Net, visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language.

• Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
• Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
• Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
• Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
• Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
• Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.

Qualifications

High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

• Clearance Required: TS/SCI.
• IAT Level II Certification or ability/willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Possess working knowledge in reading/writing PL/SQL code/.net

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity working with DoD/DoN networks.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity working with Service Now.
