Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required and a valid driver's license.
• Education: BS in Information/Computer Technology or related field preferred.
• 3+ years IT experience with a degree, or 5+ years IT experience without a degree.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teammates and customers to translate requirements into reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Manage reporting projects across requirements, design, development, and testing.
• Build static and dynamic reports on a three-tier architecture.
• Write scripts and update templates to customize check-in policies and reports.
• Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Troubleshoot interoperability issues in web-driven apps using SQL for data access.
• Develop BI analytics solutions aligned with customer requirements.
• Oversee schedules and escalate as needed to keep milestones on track.
• Coordinate issue resolution with team lead and project manager.

Job description

Motus Recruiting and Staffing is hiring a Software Developer for Reporting and Analytics on a hybrid contract in Portland, OR.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical teammates and internal/external customers to convert user requirements into functional reporting and analytics capability
• Handle reporting project work across technical requirements, design, development, and testing for fixed and analytic reports
• Build static and dynamic reports backed by a three-tier architecture (web server, application server, SQL database engine)
• Write scripts and update Microsoft Visual Studio methodology templates to support customization of check-in policies, custom reports, and repeatable testing
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop
• Troubleshoot and communicate interoperability issues in existing web-driven applications where SQL is used for data access
• Develop customer-focused BI analytics solutions
• Implement presentation layers aligned with customer requirements and applicable best practices
• Serve as a point of contact and oversee technical schedule segments to keep project milestones on track, escalating to the team lead and project manager as needed
• Coordinate issue resolution with the team lead and project manager

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and a valid Driver’s License required
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Information/Computer Technology (or related technical discipline) preferred
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of Information Technology experience required with a Bachelor’s degree in a specified degree
  • 5+ years of Information Technology experience required without a degree (or an applicable degree)
• Demonstrated experience with:
  • Power BI Server and Power BI Desktop
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2019, Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and Microsoft SQL Server 2022 (or later)
  • SQL Reporting Services 2012, 2016, and 2022
  • Scripting: VB scripting, Java Scripting, and PowerShell
  • Report design and information/database design skills
