Job summary

CorSource Technology Group in Portland, OR is seeking a Software Developer / Programmer 2 for a full-time, 12-month contract to join the Data Integration and Reporting team. You will design, develop, and test analytics reports and dashboards using Power BI in a three-tier SQL environment, collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into BI solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL, Visual Studio, and SSRS experience with data warehousing concepts and report design.

OVERVIEW

Assignment

This full-time contract assignment will support the Data Integration and Reporting (JLSR) organization within the Company’s IT department. This assignment involves contributing to the organizing, planning, and managing of a large, complex reporting environment, and performing project technical requirements, design, development and testing tasks similar to those performed by the rest of the development team.

Organization

Data Integration and Reporting provides reporting services, business intelligence, data warehousing, and data integration. The staff provides reports development and reporting services as well as the management and delivery of services supporting a common information model through the implementation of data integration architectures such as data warehouses, data marts, and data migration/integration solutions.

ASSIGNMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Note: All official drafts, documents and recommendations, as listed below, must be reviewed, finalized and approved / accepted by appropriate manager or other federal personnel with the authority to do so.

• Collaborate with technical team members and customers in order to translate user requirements from both internal and external clients into functional capability. Confirm JLSR resources are available to provide representation to organizations within the company.
• Perform project technical requirements; design, development, and testing tasks for fixed and analytic reports.
• Develop static and dynamic reports from a three-tier client-server application that uses a web server, application server, and SQL database engine architecture.
• Write scripts and modify Microsoft Visual Studio methodology templates to provide customization of check-in policies, custom reports, and repetitive testing.
• Create and modify existing reports and dashboards using the Power BI Desktop tool.
• Troubleshoot and communicate report interoperability problems in existing web-driven applications using SQL as the backend for data access.
• Develop customer focused BI analytics solutions.
• Develop presentation layers in concert with customer requirements and best practices and approaches.
• Act as a point of contact and oversee technical schedule segments to ensure project milestones are completed on time by escalating issues to the team lead and project manager if necessary.
• Provide issue resolution in coordination with the team lead and project manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Corresponding Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Information/Computer Technology or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• 3 years of Information Technology experience is required with a Bachelor’s degree in a specified degree.
• 5 years of Information Technology experience is required without a degree or an applicable degree.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience with the following is required:
• Power BI Server and desktop tool.
• Microsoft Visual Studio 2019, 2022 and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2022 or later.
• SQL Reporting Services 2012, 2016, and 2022.
• Scripting (VB scripting/Java Scripting, and Powershell)
• Report Design / Information/database Design Skills.
