Job summary

Bcore in Springfield, VA is seeking a Software Developer-Mid with an active TS clearance (SCI eligibility) to support NGA missions. You will join an agile team developing cloud-based solutions, integrating data streams, and delivering secure software in a DevSecOps environment.

Responsibilities include cloud migrations, API development, AI features, and maintaining robust applications. Expect collaboration across development, security, and mission teams in a dynamic government context.

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, or related field, or 3+ years IT experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency with Python, Java, and Scala.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows.
• Docker/containerization, microservices, Helm, and development containers.
• Experience with cloud-native apps on AWS/OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• DevSecOps practices: code hardening, updates, vulnerability remediation, automated security scans.
• Ability to collaborate across development, infrastructure, security, and mission teams.

Responsibilities

What you get to do every day:

• Integrate multiple data streams into customer system
• Complete Cloud platform migrations (between currently existing and available platforms)
• Develop AI features for existing Ontology-based software applications
• Creates sustainable software applications – work is estimated accurately, branching strategies are efficient, code repos are maintained, etc.
• Works as a member of an agile scrum team and participates in regular agile ceremonies applying scrum methodologies – daily stand up, planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives.
• Implements requirements from the product backlog
• Assists in writing backlog requirements/user stories
• Utilizes a modern DevSecOps approach in building software applications
• Develop and modify applications, software, services, utilities, interfaces, and IT systems that support systems and analysts.

Qualifications

Clearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly

Education/Experience: Requires Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or 3 additional years of experience in information technology.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience Required Skills:
• Professional software development experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and mission-focused applications.
• Professional programming experience with Python, Java, and Scala.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, Git-based workflows, automated unit/integration/system testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker/containerization, microservice architectures, Helm, and development container environments.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), and LLM-enabled workflows.
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications using AWS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating, transforming, and managing data from multiple sources, organizations, and network environments.
• Ability to work within new or complex network environments.
• Practical experience applying DevSecOps principles, such as code hardening, dependency/package updates, vulnerability remediation, and automated security scanning.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and collaborate across development, infrastructure, security, and mission teams

What is ideal?

• Familiarity with data normalization, transformation, and visualization techniques.
• Basic understanding of graph-based data models, data relationships, and advanced data structures.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience developing and presenting technical updates, metrics, or status reports.
• Intelligence Community Experience preferred

• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $134,000-$162,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
