Job summary

Abile Group, Inc. is seeking a Mid Software Developer on a 10-year contract to support an Intelligence Community customer, delivering user-facing and data center IT services across networks and locations worldwide.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with CI poly eligibility, a STEM degree or 3+ years of IT experience, and hands-on work in modern DevSecOps, cloud-native apps, and AI features.

Qualifications

  • Clearance: TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or related field, or 3 additional years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional software development and delivery.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, mission-focused applications.
  • Experience with Python, Java, and Scala.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests.
  • Hands-on with Docker/containerization, microservices, Helm, and development containers.
  • Exposure to Generative AI, including RAG and LLMs.
  • Experience deploying cloud-native apps using AWS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple sources and environments.
  • Ability to work in complex network environments.
  • DevSecOps: code hardening, dependency updates, vulnerability remediation, automated security scanning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and collaborate across dev, infra, security, and mission teams.

Responsibilities

  • Integrates multiple data streams into customer system.
  • Completes Cloud platform migrations between existing and new platforms.
  • Develops AI features for Ontology-based software applications.
  • Creates sustainable software applications with efficient branching and clean repos.
  • Works as a member of an agile scrum team and participates in daily standups, sprint reviews, and demos.
  • Implements requirements from the product backlog.
  • Assists in writing backlog requirements/user stories.
  • Applies a modern DevSecOps approach in building software applications.
  • Develops and modifies applications, software, services, interfaces, and IT systems to support analysts.

Job description

Overview

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Software Developer, Mid on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities
  • Integrates multiple data streams into customer system.
  • Completes Cloud platform migrations (between currently existing and available platforms)
  • Develops AI features for existing Ontology-based software applications.
  • Creates sustainable software applications – work is estimated accurately, branching strategies are efficient, code repos are maintained, etc.
  • Works as a member of an agile scrum team and participates in regular agile ceremonies applying scrum methodologies – daily stand up, planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives.
  • Implements requirements from the product backlog.
  • Assists in writing backlog requirements/user stories.
  • Utilizes a modern DevSecOps approach in building software applications.
  • Develop and modify applications, software, services, utilities, interfaces, and IT systems that support systems and analysts.
Qualifications

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or 3 additional years of experience in information technology.

  • 5+ years of experience

Required Skills:

  • Professional software development experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and mission-focused applications.
  • Professional programming experience with Python, Java, and Scala.
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, Git-based workflows, automated unit/integration/system testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with Docker/containerization, microservice architectures, Helm, and development container environments.
  • Exposure to Generative AI technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), and LLM‑enabled workflows.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications using AWS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience integrating, transforming, and managing data from multiple sources, organizations, and network environments.
  • Ability to work within new or complex network environments.
  • Practical experience applying DevSecOps principles, such as code hardening, dependency/package updates, vulnerability remediation, and automated security scanning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and collaborate across development, infrastructure, security, and mission teams.

DesiredSkills:

  • Familiarity with data normalization, transformation, and visualization techniques.
  • Basic understanding of graph-based data models, data relationships, and advanced data structures.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience developing and presenting technical updates, metrics, or status reports.
