Job summary

LinuxCareers is seeking a Software Developer (Market Setup) to onboard trading venues onto the platform, from initial scoping to the first live trade. You will design connectivity, adapt connectors to venue protocols, and validate data across venues.

Responsibilities

• Execute certification tests and support go-live activities.

Job description

A financial technology company is seeking a Software Developer (Market Setup) to onboard trading venues onto their platform, from initial scoping through the first live trade. The role involves designing connectivity infrastructure, adapting market data and order entry protocols, integrating venue-specific parameters, performance tuning, certification testing, and operations handover.

What You'll Do

• Scope venue requirements, assess platform capability gaps, and estimate setup complexity
• Design connectivity infrastructure including colocation, proxy configuration, multicast groups, and firewall rules
• Adapt market data and order entry connectors to venue-specific binary protocols (SBE, FAST, ITCH, OUCH, Eurex ETI, EOBI, LSE native)
• Integrate venue product definitions and risk parameters; validate data completeness and accuracy
• Measure latency performance using hardware timestamps, tune host placement and kernel bypass settings to meet venue and strategy budgets
• Execute certification testing including replay, soak tests, order-flow scenarios, and failover procedures
• Document operating instructions for trading desk and operations teams; conduct pre-launch training and support go-live

• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming in C++
• Understanding of Linux system internals
• Proficient written and spoken English for international collaboration
• Ability to perform in remote/hybrid environments with variable, project-based responsibilities

Nice to Have

• In-depth knowledge and expertise with low-latency and real-time development achieving sub-microsecond latency
• Experience with lock-free containers and associated design patterns
• C programming knowledge, including writing Linux kernel drivers or low-level system work
