Job summary

Storm4 partners with a commodities trading house to hire a senior C++ developer for a clean-slate trading system in live markets. You will lead a small, hands-on team close to traders, owning features from design to production.

Requirements include 7+ years in C++, low-latency experience in trading, Linux networking, and Python for tooling. Prior futures/commodities exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of C++ experience with modern C++ and multi-threading
• Low-latency experience from a trading firm, market maker, fund or exchange
• Hands-on connectivity experience to exchanges
• Futures/commodities background, energy preferred
• Strong Linux and networking skills; Python for research and tooling

Responsibilities

• Shape and build the core platform: order handling, execution, pricing, market data and risk
• Build direct connections into the major futures and commodities exchanges
• Tune performance to microsecond latency with lock-free design and kernel-bypass networking

I'm partnered with a commodities trading house that's building a new in-house trading system from scratch.

It's a clean-slate build covering execution, pricing, market data and risk, so there's no legacy code to work around.

They need a senior C++ developer to help lead it. You'd be in a small, hands-on team with real ownership, sitting close to the traders, and your work would run in live markets.

The work:

• Shape and build the core platform: order handling, execution, pricing, market data and risk
• Build direct connections into the major futures and commodities exchanges
• Tune performance down to the microsecond, with lock-free design and kernel-bypass networking
• Work side by side with traders and quants on new features and execution logic
• Own what you build, from design through to production

What you'll bring:

• 7+ years of C++, with strong modern C++ and multi-threading skills
• Low-latency experience from a trading firm, market maker, fund or exchange
• A solid grasp of how exchanges work, including hands-on connectivity experience
• A futures or commodities background, ideally energy
• Strong Linux and networking skills
• Python for research and tooling
