Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience in a production team.
• Strong experience with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and SDLC practices.
• Understanding of object-oriented design, MVC, and patterns.
• Ability to deliver high-quality code in a 24/7 production environment.
• Good attention to detail and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

SegPay is looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our Gateway team and help build, maintain, and enhance the technology powering our payment gateway and financial transaction-processing systems.

In this role, you'll work across the full development lifecycle-from design and development to testing, deployment, and production support. You'll collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA, and DevOps to turn business requirements into reliable technical solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting payment gateway and financial transaction processing

• Develop solutions using the LAMP stack: Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and PHP

• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, QA, production support, and releases

• Troubleshoot production and client-facing issues and develop solutions that help prevent future problems

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to translate requirements into technical solutions

• Partner with QA to support testing and maintain transaction accuracy and data integrity

• Work with DevOps on builds, deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production support

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience in a production team environment

• Strong experience developing with the LAMP stack
