Job summary

Job Description

Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) enables businesses to deliver the right experience at the right time to their customers. The Segmentation Service is one of the core AEP services, allowing customers to define audience segments and generate target audiences using real-time customer profile and event data.

This team processes trillions of audience segment evaluations every day, making scalability, performance, and distributed systems engineering critical. This is an opportunity to solve complex algorithmic problems while building highly performant services used across Adobe Digital Experience products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers and product managers to build a high-performance segmentation engine
• Design and implement core platform components
• Develop query compilation algorithms that transform and optimize segmentation queries
• Build query optimization and evaluation algorithms including:
  • Multi-query optimization
  • Incremental evaluation
  • Streaming evaluation
• Develop advanced data pipelines using Apache Spark
• Build monitoring tools to measure query performance and identify semantic issues
• Deploy and support production services while continuously improving performance
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews
• Work within Agile development processes using modern CI/CD pipelines

Required Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field
• Strong Java or Scala development experience
• Experience building scalable query engines or equivalent large-scale data processing systems
• Excellent understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Experience designing high-performance distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to collaborate across engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with databases or compiler technologies
• Apache Spark experience
• Experience optimizing distributed query execution

Compensation

• Pay Rate: $73.13/hour
