Overview

Senior Software Engineer on the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) team to architect and scale systems powering global digital experiences, with emphasis on ultra-low-latency pipelines, intelligent decisioning, and AI-driven personalization within the Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP).

What You Will Build And Drive

Architect Distributed Data Systems: design and deliver globally distributed solutions for real-time identity resolution, consent management, and accurate customer profiles at massive scale.
AI & ML Personalization: integrate Generative AI/ML into RTCDP for next-gen segmentation, recommendations, and live decisioning.
Low-Latency Data Pipelines: engineer resilient, high-throughput data flows with Kafka, Spark, Java/Scala to guarantee SLAs across diverse user journeys.
Microservices at Scale: build and maintain mission-critical, cloud-native microservices supporting trillions of queries and activations.
Leadership & Ownership: lead project delivery from design through production with focus on quality, performance, and measurable business results.
Mentorship: coach and mentor junior engineers and code reviewers to foster engineering excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver privacy-first, customer-centric solutions aligned with regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years’ experience developing large-scale distributed systems in production.
Deep backend expertise (Java or Scala), with strong concurrency, performance tuning, and microservices skills.
Proven track record building real-time data solutions using event-driven architectures (Kafka, Spark/Flink).
Experience designing, implementing, and operating fault-tolerant, low-latency APIs in cloud-native environments.
Solid understanding of storage technologies (SQL, NoSQL, key-value stores).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a drive for delivering results in critical systems.

Preferred Skills

Experience with customer data platforms, martech, adtech, or relevant verticals.
Background in identity resolution, segmentation, consent management, or privacy-first data architectures.
Hands-on with machine learning or personalization systems.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
Mentorship, leadership, and ability to shape architectural direction.

Salary information: The U.S. pay range for this position is $133,900 – $242,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share specifics during the hiring process. For non-sales roles, salaries are base plus annual incentive; some roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of an equity award.
