Job summary

Axpo US is looking for a Software Developer Intern to help build and maintain the Beacon ETRM system in New York. You will work on market data tools, real-time risk monitoring, and interfaces with external systems, while learning from a team that values curiosity and collaboration.

You will collaborate with Trading, Quants, Risk, and Tech colleagues, write unit tests, and contribute to end-of-day processes. A strong Python background and teamwork mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Python – any other modern object-oriented language welcome.
• Strong communicator across functions (Trading, Quant, Tech).
• Analytical and solution-focused with fast problem solving.
• Exposure to commodities or energy trading helpful.
• Open to applicants who don’t meet every box.

Responsibilities

• Develop, extend, and support technical aspects of our Beacon ETRM system, including market data tools, real-time risk monitoring, and confirms processing
• Help maintain and enhance interfaces with third-party systems, including exchange feeds, risk and credit systems, and regulatory reporting tools
• Support front, middle, and back office technology needs such as invoicing, inventory management, and end-of-day batch processes
• Contribute to deal life-cycling, reconciliation processes, and system data integrity checks
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure reliable, high-quality software
• Collaborate closely with Trading, Quant, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions

Salary Range*: 30 USD - 35 USD per hour

*The actual compensation offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.
