Job summary

Axpo Group is seeking a Retail Operations Analyst to join our U.S. team in Houston, focusing on the US retail power market, renewables, and gas markets. You will verify transaction representations and support the lifecycle from confirmation to settlement, driving improvements across Operations processes.

You will collaborate with trading, quants, and tech teams, ensuring regulatory reporting and accurate ISO invoicing. The role requires a degree and 3+ years in energy operations.

Qualifications

• University degree with top grades in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in operations within a trading or sales business in commodities services, preferably energy.
• Experience in supporting retail power and knowledge of energy markets.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Operations in managing the retail power business, including confirmation, invoicing and settlement of OTC transactions.
• Liaise with Power and Gas Scheduling Teams and ensure regulatory reporting of OTC transactions.
• Reconcile futures positions and ISO invoices and provide requirements for system testing and enhancements.
• Review complex transactions and maintain reference data for counterparties and brokers.
• Identify process improvements to reduce operational risk and enhance workflows.

What you bring & who you are:

• University degree with top grades, preferably in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the operations department of a trading and sales business within the commodities services industry, preferably energy. Experience in supporting retail power is required.
• Knowledge of commodities markets, including retail energy and products traded (Futures, Forwards, Swaps, Options, Load, FTRs).
• Experience in confirmations, invoicing/settlements, transactional regulatory reporting, and ISO invoice reconciliations.
• Strong skills in testing trading system rollouts and enhancements.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act as a bridge between traders, quants, and tech teams.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly solve problems and propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to anticipate potential risks and identify control gaps, proposing solutions to mitigate such risks.

Salary Range*: 142.000 USD - 232.000 USD

• The actual total compensation offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.
