Job summary

Arconic is seeking a technically motivated individual to collaborate with IT applications teams and help document business needs. You will work on price automation solutions and test configurations with cross-functional groups, while following established IT standards and best practices across global teams.

The role targets students near graduation with strong programming basics and web development knowledge, offering growth opportunities within a changing environment at Davenport Works.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or related field.
• Fundamental object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience with at least one programming language (Java, C#, VB, JavaScript).
• Basic web development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Expected graduation Fall 2027, Spring/Summer 2028, or Spring/Summer 2029.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Authorized to work in the United States; ITAR restrictions apply.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business needs and processes with business groups.
• Develop enterprise price automation solutions using project tool sets.
• Test configurations, migrations, and customisations with business teams.
• Adhere to Arconic IS standards and BU/RUITS standards.

Responsibilities

• Work with Business groups to gather and document business needs and processes
• Develop enterprise price business automation solutions using the tool set of the assigned projects
• Work with business teams to perform application testing of configurations, migrations, and customisations
• Operate with Arconic IS standards and conventions and applicable Arconic BU/ RUITS standards
• Work across a global IT team to share information and best practices

• Collaborate with IT Applications teams learn internal development processes and standards
• Learn and apply the applicable tool sets to solve real world business problems
• Add value to the company through key IT project and task deliverables

Qualifications

• Creds to wardac h e l o r’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field , from an accredited institution
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Coursework or experience with at least one programming language, preferably Java, C#, Visual Basic, JavaScript, or a similar language.
• Basic knowledge of web application development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Must have an expected graduation date in Fall 2027, Spring/Summer of 2028, or Spring/Summer of 2029
• Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Employees must be legally authorised to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with or interest in learning Java and React.js for modern web application development.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL, including writing basic queries and working with tables and data.
• Familiarity with source control, preferably Git.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Interest in learning CI/CD concepts, automated builds, testing, and application deployment pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn existing applications and technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with developers and other technical team members.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Davenport Works is the country’s largest aluminum rolling mill, it was opened in 1948 and currently employs more than 2,000 people and ships product worldwide. It is in Riverdale in the Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf in southeastern Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline in northwestern Illinois).
