Responsibilities And Impact

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate software engineer to create innovative technology solutions for S&P Global Ratings products. The ideal candidate will excel in a highly technical role, designing and developing software using cutting-edge technologies, including web applications, data pipelines, big data, machine learning, and multi-cloud environments.

  • Oversee the complete SDLC: architecture, design, development, and support of technical solutions.
  • Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies and effectively follow SAFe/AGILE best practices.
  • Build high-quality, high-performance, and scalable code as a key member of the development team.
  • Produce technical design documents and conduct technical walkthroughs.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions using technical design docs, diagrams, and stubbed code.
  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Respond to and resolve production issues promptly.
  • Mentor team members, innovate, experiment, and present business ideas to key stakeholders.
Compensation/Benefits Information

(Applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $62,000 to $110,000. Final salary depends on geographic location, experience, skills, training, licenses, and certifications.

In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. It is not eligible for additional compensation such as sales commissions.

What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • At least 2+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in Java for concurrent and distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience designing user interfaces with React, HTML5, XML, and CSS.
  • Solid understanding of data models, data architecture, and Oracle 12C (PL/SQL).
  • Design, development, and architectural experience, ensuring quality across distributed teams.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries and data models.
  • Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies like SAFe/Agile and TDD.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as IDEs, web/application servers, GIT, Azure DevOps, and defect management tools.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Domain knowledge in Financial Industry and Capital Markets.
  • Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Load Balancer, Security Groups, EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue, etc.).
  • Experience with DevOps, Docker, and containerization.
  • Python experience is a plus.
