Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Journeyman Software Developer to join our Wright-Patterson Air Force Base team in Ohio. Hybrid/remote work may be allowed with potential shift to on-site duties based on customer needs. You must reside within 1 hour of Wright-Patterson AFB or relocate accordingly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline, and at least 2 years of software development experience
• Or a High school diploma/GED, and at least 3 years of software development experience
• At least 1 year of experience with Java development and unit/integration testing of code
• Experience with build tools, such as Ant and Maven
• Experience with CM tools, such as Git and BitBucket
• Must live within one (1) hour of Wright Patterson Air Force Base or be willing to relocate to the area prior to your start date
• Must be able and willing to physically exert up to 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position is otherwise sedentary, involving sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, development, and engineering of software solutions using SQL stored queries, procedures, functions, views, and triggers, HTML, Java script, CSS and Java for web development.
• Support development and communicate weekly status reports
• Assist in providing demonstrations of code and contributing to other team efforts whenever required.
• Assist with the development of production design of requirements and Software Design Documents (SDDs).
