Job summary

FTI Defense seeks a self-directed software developer to support the Naval Safety Command in Norfolk, VA, with partial remote capability. The role focuses on design, development, testing, and maintenance of software systems and data pipelines in a Databricks environment.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists and other developers, write automated tests, and participate in full development lifecycle while maintaining DoD security clearances. U.S. citizens preferred.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on software development with Python, R, C#, or Angular.
• Experience building data pipelines in Databricks and using PySpark.
• Git source control with review processes.
• Experience writing automated tests and ensuring code quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software systems and applications.
• Develop and maintain pipelines in a Databricks environment.
• Analyze code and revise programs to fix errors.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle and requirements analysis.
• Collaborate with end users to prototype and refine technical requirements.
• Identify new technologies for implementation and support dashboard design.
• Provide support, maintenance, and documentation for software functionality.
