Job summary

Quotient (A VTG Company) is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain software supporting the JAMMEX program. The role spans the full SDLC to deliver secure, scalable code that meets requirements.

You will collaborate with engineers, QA, and IT teams, participate in Agile ceremonies, and create technical docs. DoD cybersecurity guidelines and CI/CD practices are a core focus in a remote-friendly, US-wide setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience)
• 5+ years of software development and sustainment experience
• Secret clearance preferred
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain software for the JAMMEX program.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure performance.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, application programmers, and QA testers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Develop and update software documentation and release notes.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and ensure code aligns with DoD cybersecurity and IA guidelines.

Position Overview:

The Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of software applications supporting the JAMMEX program. This role works across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver secure, high-quality, and scalable code that meets the technical requirements.

Day-To-Day Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, write, and maintain clean, efficient, and secure code based on system requirements and user stories.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of software applications to ensure functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, application programmers, and QA/test engineers to integrate software components.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
• Develop and update technical documentation, including software design specifications, user guides, and release notes.
• Remediate software vulnerabilities and ensure all code complies with DoD cybersecurity and IA (Information Assurance) guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in software development and sustainment.
• Clearance: Secret preferred.
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant computing environment (CE) or developer certification from a nationally recognized technical authority (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer, AWS Certified Developer, or equivalent).
• Experience transitioning legacy systems to modern cloud-based architectures.
• Strong background in DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
