Job summary

Michaels Energy seeks a Software Developer to design, develop, implement, and maintain software solutions supporting internal operations and client programs. This role combines traditional software development, low-code platforms, system integrations, and AI to improve efficiency and deliver business value.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand business needs, develop effective solutions, and continuously improve applications, analytics, and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software development or application development experience.
• Proficiency in Python or a comparable programming language.
• Experience developing and maintaining business applications, web applications, or automated workflows.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relational databases.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications using Python, Quickbase, and web technologies.
• Develop software that supports engineering calculations, analytical models, data processing, and technical workflows.
• Develop and enhance Quickbase applications, including data models, interfaces, reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.
• Support the modernization and migration of legacy applications and platforms.
• Write, maintain, and improve code that supports business applications and client-facing solutions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve defects, and improve application performance and reliability.
• Respond to support requests and bug tickets within established SLAs.
• Follow software development best practices for testing, documentation, version control, and security.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and provide user training as needed.
