Job summary

Oracle’s Logging team, part of the Observability organization, is seeking engineers to design and deliver major features for a world-class Observability and Management platform that spans OCI, other clouds, and on‑premises.

You will work on high‑scale services, own components, mentor peers, and contribute to reliable, scalable solutions while embracing simplicity and growth in a collaborative, agile environment.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in CS or relevant technical field.
  • 3–5 years of total software development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to write great code using Java, C#, C++ or similar OO languages.
  • Proven ability to deliver products with full SDLC experience.
  • Experience with large-scale, distributed services infrastructure.
  • Operational experience with mission-critical live-site servicing.
  • Systematic problem-solving, strong communication, ownership and drive.
  • Architectures that enable high availability, scalability, and market-leading features.

Responsibilities

  • Own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Launch major features into production and guide other engineers.
  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, secure solutions in an agile environment.

This is an opportunity to become a part of the Logging team under the Observability org, a core OCI team that has an impact on external and internal customers along with all other OCI cloud services. Observability org of OCI is on a continued mission of delivering a world‑class Integrated Observability and Management platform for our customers, that can work seamlessly across OCI, other clouds, and on‑premises to provide a uniform view. Our integrated Observability and Management platform combines Logging, Monitoring, Auditing, SIEM, Events, and other services. We will continue to innovate on each of these services to make them feature‑rich world‑class services on their own and integrate them seamlessly to provide meaningful insights into your resources and data.

Responsibilities

We are looking for engineers with distributed systems expertise. You should have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You’ve operated high‑scale services and understand how to make them more resilient. You will own projects and work on tasks independently while guiding other engineers on the team. The ideal candidate will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure, be a solid coder, and be comfortable diving deep into any part of the stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. You will be a leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.

The team is building brand‑new service features and is rapidly evolving. Major challenges include making the right trade‑offs, communicating decisions effectively, executing crisply, protecting our customer cloud environment reliably, and delivering scalable, secure, and market‑leading solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience
  • 3–5 years of total experience in software development
  • Demonstrated ability to write great code using Java, C#, C++ or similar object‑oriented languages
  • Proven ability to deliver products with experience in the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience working on large‑scale, highly distributed services infrastructure
  • Experience working in an operational environment with mission‑critical tier‑one live site servicing
  • Systematic problem‑solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive
  • Experience designing architectures that demonstrate deep technical depth in one area or span multiple products to enable high availability, scalability, and market‑leading features
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kafka, Apache Spark, Lucene, Kubernetes and other big‑data technologies
  • Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Oracle Cloud
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) languages, preferably Terraform
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL)
Compensation and Benefits

US: Hiring range in USD from $89,200 – $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
