Job summary

General Motors is seeking a seasoned software developer to update existing software and build new solutions addressing business needs. You will work closely with senior developers to ensure code alignment with design patterns and industry-standard methodologies for commercial software.

The role emphasizes distributed, highly available systems, UI/Java EE, RESTful services, JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular, Spring Boot, and collaboration within agile teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of experience as a Developer or related occupation.
• Or a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience as a Developer or related occupation.
• Three (3) years of experience with design and development of highly available, distributed, and scalable transaction enterprise systems; UI/Java EE, Restful Web Services, JAX-RS, HTML, JavaScript, React/Angular, CSS, Spring Boot/Spring MVC and PowerShell, and azure; SQL/PLSQL coding, query performance and efficiency tuning; Web application development using client-side frameworks and libraries including AngularJS; Java test frameworks including Junit; SDLC, waterfall, scrum, and agile; Source control software (ADO, Git or SVN); CI/CD frameworks; REST, websockets, and SSE.
